Raystown Lake Results: July 13, 2008

On July 13, 2008, ten teams from the Tri State Bass Circuit competed on Raystown Lake, a picturesque body of water that runs southward thru the northern Appalachian foothills of western Pennsylvania. Raystown met the anglers with water temps in the 75-80 degree range and a hot humid air surrounded the lake until the afternoon thunderstorms brought some wet relief. Although known worldwide for its giant stripers, it has a great population of big smallmouth and largemouth bass and offers anglers multiple ways to fish. All teams found the smallmouth very illusive, with none being brought to the weigh in site. Back in the winner’s circle was the team of Terry and Brad Weese with their 9.63 pound bag of largemouth. Claiming second place with their 8.26 pound sack was the team of Daniel Adams and Aron Wagner. Their stringer was anchored by a 3.55 pound largemouth, which was the Ashley Furniture Big Bass of the tournament. I would like to thank all the teams that participated in this event without whose support we would be unable to have a circuit. A special thank you goes to those who helped put this tournament together, especially Ron and Donna Dewitt and Todd Giarth for their assistance. We would also like to thank our circuit sponsors for their support; Ashley Furniture – Altoona, PA; Woodlands World – Uniontown, PA; Miller Autoparts – AMPZ – Allegany Motor & Pump Service, Wee Vee Gard, Carquest – Frostburg, MD; Sure Life – Please Release Me; Willetts Systems – Cumberland, MD, and Potomac River Custom Baits.
